GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR TOUR

Explore the lake at your own pace when you hire one of our child and pet friendly BBQ Pontoons.
We have two 5m X 2.5m pontoons equipped with 20hp motor, gas barbecue and toilet that are licensed for 10 passengers.
These pontoons are fantastic value for groups of families and friends, child and pet friendly with a fully enclosed cage and lockable gate and loads of room to enjoy an afternoon BBQ or relaxing paddle in the lake with our supplied pool noodles. For a small fee, we can also supply an Esky with ice and cooking utensils. And for the extra comfort, small toilet can be found on board.
Greg and his team have over 20 years of experience on the lake and will be more than happy to advise on the best spots to see wildlife and cast a line.

Please note if you wish to fish, a WA Fishing License will be required.

  • Inclusions: Your rental includes boat hire, fuel and gas for the barbecue.
  • Safety: All safety equipment is provided with the boat
  • Average Duration: Half Day or Full Day

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS

CAN WE TAKE THE PONTOON HIRE DOWN TO THE ORD RIVER?

No, we only operate on Lake Argyle. You can contact Go Wild Adventures for options down the Ord river.

DOES IT GET COLD ON THIS CRUISE?

During the months of June to August it can get cold out at Lake Argyle.
We recommend bringing a jumper or jacket and/or a change of clothes.

DO YOU HAVE CHANGE FACILITIES AND TOILETS?

Yes, both on board our boats and at our office.

IS IT SAFE TO SWIM IN LAKE ARGYLE?

Certainly, we do have freshwater crocodiles in Lake Argyle but these creatures don’t actively hurt humans. We swim in the deeper parts of Lake Argyle where they frequent less.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET TO LAKE ARGYLE FROM KUNUNURRA?

Lake Argyle is 70kms from Kununurra. The drive should take approx 50 minutes, but we recommend giving yourself an hour travel time.

IS LAKE ARGYLE ROAD ACCESSIBLE BY 2WD CARS?

Certainly is, Lake Argyle Road is sealed the whole way. There are some spots you will need to slow down due to the condition of the road and you do need to check the road conditions in the ‘wet season’.

IS IT SAFE TO DRIVE BACK TO KUNUNURRA AFTER THE CRUISE?

It will be dark by the time this cruise finishes. We advise to pay extra attention on the road as there is stray wildlife. We also advise to drink responsibly on the cruise.
Alternatively, we do offer return transfers from Kununurra. Please contact our sales team for more information 08 91687 687.

ARE THERE OTHER THINGS TO SEE AND DO AT THE LAKE?

Pop into our office, located 200 metres past the Lake Argyle Resort, our sales team will be happy to point out other points of interest.

There are many activities to do here at Lake Argyle including the Durack Homestead Museum, Walks and Look Outs, Infinity Pool, Canoe/Kayak and Paddle board Hire, Swimming, Fishing, Birdwatching, Scenic Flights, Pontoon and Dinghy Hire.

Whilst here come and browse through our amazing Zebra Rock collection and other lovely collectibles.
