Imagine living in a place where crocodiles outnumber humans; where you’re hours from the coast, but the sea is your front yard (an inland sea, that is); where flocks of birds can number into the tens of thousands; and where each day’s sunset has the potential to be the best you’ve ever seen.
When Greg began operating in 1999, he knew he’d never tire of showing this incredible part of the world to others. Two decades (and thousands of guests later) Lake Argyle Cruises remains the number one choice for exploring this magnificent part of the Kimberley.
Our fleet of purpose-built cruise vessels offer comfortable seating and unobstructed views, immersing you into the breathtaking landscape that the Eastern Kimberley is renowned for. Our team’s passion and knowledge, together with our fantastic products have earned us the Holy Grail for any tour company – a five star rating and Certificate of Excellence on TripAdvisor.
Whether you’re spotting for wildlife during one of our cruises, hiring a dinghy and throwing in a line, drifting across the water on a stand-up paddle board, or soaking in the magic of an East Kimberley sunset, you’ll experience the heart and soul of Lake Argyle with us, Lake Argyle Cruises!
Dress ‘Kimberley casual’ – shorts, t-shirt and sandals. Don’t forget your hat, sunscreen, camera and binoculars! If you are sensitive to the cold, bring a light jacket to wear while we are motoring. Wear your swimwear and pack a towel for your swim at the end of the cruise. Warm clothing may be required from June to August.
“We hired the BBQ pontoon for an afternoon. What a fantastic and economical option for a family!!! Takes up to 10 adults and has a BBQ and toilet onboard. You also don’t need a Skippers ticket to hire, unlike other boats. It was fantastic fun – kids were able to be their (loud and excited) selves as we had the pontoon all to ourselves. The guide on arrival was super helpful! Showing us where fish had been caught, where to go and where maybe to avoid and what we could see. So happy we took this option. We had a fantastic time!!!! Our 4 year old caught her very first fish on the day.
Hint …….. get your fishing license for WA beforehand.
Definitely recommend Lake Argyle Cruises and their BBQ Pontoon hire!”

“We hired out a pontoon boat for our friends 21st surprise birthday party and had the best time. The guys who run the place go out of their way to make everything enjoyable and easy to go on your way. Thank you so much for helping us make this birthday one our friend will never forget.”

“Stayed at Lake Argyle Resort for 5 days and used Lake Argyle Cruises for the kayaks, the tinny and the BBQ Pontoon. Their office is right next door to the resort and the staff were efficient and friendly. Good prices and well looked after equipment. Had an absolute ball on the kayaks, tinny and the pontoon (especially loved the pontoon as had a bbq lunch and we all were on it together – 7 of us).”

"We had 4 adults and 5 kids on the BBQ boat for a full day. It was amazing to be able to explore the lake and our leisure. Staff were wonderful to deal with and the boat was all in very good condition with pool noodles on board. Highly recommend hiring a BBQ for the day if you are heading to lake Argyle!!"

A great day out on a BBQ boat, fantastic staff to deal with. The lake was stunning and we felt we were the only people out there.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS
No, we only operate on Lake Argyle. You can contact Go Wild Adventures and Lake Kununurra Boat Hire for options down the Ord river.
During the months of June to August it can get cold out at Lake Argyle.
We recommend bringing a jumper or jacket and/or a change of clothes.
Yes, both on board our boats and at our office.
Certainly, we do have freshwater crocodiles in Lake Argyle but these creatures don’t actively hurt humans. We swim in the deeper parts of Lake Argyle where they frequent less.
Lake Argyle is 70kms from Kununurra. The drive should take approx 50 minutes, but we recommend giving yourself an hour travel time.
Certainly is, Lake Argyle Road is sealed the whole way. There are some spots you will need to slow down due to the condition of the road and you do need to check the road conditions in the ‘wet season’.
It will be dark by the time this cruise finishes. We advise to pay extra attention on the road as there is stray wildlife. We also advise to drink responsibly on the cruise.
Alternatively, we do offer return transfers from Kununurra. Please contact our sales team for more information 08 91687 687.
